Subject: UK ancestry:
Hello,
Over the last several years I have learned much about my paternal ancestry. Much of the US history was put into a book by a several times over Cousin George Solley. Thomas Solley was conscripted from England to the US. I am now trying to get more information about the UK side. I think I heard that a good amount of my ancestors are/were in the Kent area. After doing a DNA test, I found out that I have much more Scottish than I thought. I would love to know more about them. However, I can’t do the Ancestry.com membership to try and trace the records, do you have any tips, resources or other options that I might be able to use.
Thanks, Jill

Thanks for your message to The Sole Society.
We have a number of Thomas Soll(e)ys in our records but would need more information regarding dates and locations to pinpoint the right one. Personally, I use Ancestry (UK version), My Heritage, Family Tree and Find My Past which are usefully, but like looking up a word in a dictionary, approximate spelling is required to get anywhere!
Joining The Sole Society could help you with your research of your Solly connections.
