Welcome to new member Michael Saul who has undertaken some research and established that he is a descendant of the Oldbury Sauls. He has visited the churchyard at Horley, Oxfordshire where the Oldbury Sauls originated as far as we kinow. He is closely related to other older and more recent members of the Society and this particular tree has been well researched over the years. Michael says that he has undertaken a DNA test so it will be interesting to see what may transpire from this.
We had a very enjoyable day at this years Gathering and I was pleased to meet Brandon Saul again. Brandon brought along some documentation about his great grandfathers army service in World War Two. I have to admit that this made me feel a bit old as it was my father who had served in that conflict. However we hope that Brandon can be useful in advising on how we can be more noticeable to younger generations, particularly in this world of social media.
