A reminder to label any old photos of your ancestors that you have. On the left is who I presume to be Aunt Clara, the sister of my great-grandfather Thomas Saul.
I assumed this because the location of the photographer’s studio is given as Shrewsbury and this is where I was told they lived. However now, looking at the lady’s dress, I wonder if it might actually be her parents-in-law as the photo looks like it might be earlier. Clara was born in 1869.
Sadly I have a whole album full of photos from the Victorian era, with no names on them.
