Henry SOLE (1843-1901) of Woodnesborough and Descendants

Henry SOLE (1848-1901) was born in Woodnesborough, the eleventh and youngest child of Edward and Rose Hannah (nee DRAYSON). He was a Wagoner. He married Sarah GOODBAN in 1873 (1851-1927) and they had eight children. The family moved in later years to Garlinge, near Margate.
Ada Ellen SOLE (1880-1966) was born in Woodnesborough, the fourth child of Henry and Sarah (nee GOODBAN). She married Walter H CURTIS in 1918 and they had two known daughters, Kathleen and Olive.

Bertha SOLE (1883-1912) was born in Woodnesborough, he fifth child of Henry and Sarah (nee GOODBAN). She married Frank COX in 1904. Bertha died suddenly on Margate seafront thought to have been caused by shock from the noise of a collision behind the seat on which she was sitting due to a run-away horse.
Albert Harry SOLE (1888-1970) [in 1908] was born in Woodnesborough, the seventh child of Henry and Sarah and the father of Lionel. Albert joined the Army Service Corps in 1916 and saw active service in France in WW1.

William John SOLE (1891-1964) was born in Woodnesborough, the eighth and youngest son of Henry and Sarah.
Lionel SOLE (1916- ) and Lilian (Lily) ROFFEY (1913-1986). Lionel was the eldest son of Albert and Blanche. Lionel saw active service in North Africa during WW2 and was in the printing trade before and after the war. Lionel's memoirs have been serialised in our Journal, (Apr 2005-Apr 2006).
Desmond John SOLE (1925-1987) was the second son of Albert and Blanche.
Edward SOLE (1928-2002) was the third and youngest son of Albert and Blanche.
