Ernest George Edmund Soles 1891-1973 with

John Alfred (Jack) Soles 1890-pre1943 & Emily Dora Ann Soles

This delightful Soles family photograph shows two brothers and their sister, and was kindly supplied by our member Bill Soles, son of Ernest GE Soles.

Ernest (on the left) was a master butcher like his father, and was born at Birmingham 25th May 1891 and died 30th Nov 1973 in Nuneaton. For most of his life he was a butcher and cattle dealer. His first wife was Frances Emily Leedham, a farmers daughter born 10th Nov 1889 at Netherseal and died 24th Jun 1956 in Nuneaton. His second wife was Gerty Farr. Children by his first wife were John Ernest William (Bill) Soles and Margaret Irene Soles.

Brother Jack was born in 1890 at Kings Norton, Birmingham and died before 6th March 1946. He was a master butcher with two children, Mary D Soles and John Morris Soles. He was said to have business interests in Ireland during World War II, and perhaps he died in Ireland.

Emily married Jack Cavanah, a tea blender. He died about 1928 in Tamworth. In 1933 she married Evan Lloyd, a farmer at Rugby. Emily died at Rugby between 1940-1942
