Frederick Albert SOLE (Son of Eli SOLE)

22nd June 1899 - 12th September 1977

Frederick Albert SOLE was born in Birchington, Kent, England on 22nd June 1899 and died at Margate, Kent on 12th September 1977 from Coronary Artery Disease. He married Nellie Martha BRADBURY on 26th December 1936 in Broadstairs, Kent.

Frederick joined the army in 1917 (7th London Regiment and subsequently the Royal Fusiliers) and served in the trenches in France as a "runner", After being demobbed he could not settle into a civilian job and re-enlisted in the army and saw service in Mesopotania (now Iraq). He had a number of labouring jobs including Railway Engine Cleaner, Store Porter and became a postman during World War 2, as he was too old to join the army. He was a member of the Home Guard at Dover.
