Joseph Saul was a successful auctioneer from Southport, Lancashire. He was originally from Ambleside, Cumberland where he had been a stonemason and is said to have carved the tombstone in the churchyard in memory of his family.
The above is Joseph Saul's brother, James Saul and his wife Agnes (nee Nelson). They had eleven children. James' occupation was a builder and stonemason.
