Ruth Mary Soles

12^th October 1923 – 20^th March 2007

It was with great sadness that we heard of the death of Ruth Soles (nee Gregory), the wife of our former Soles co-ordinator Bill Soles.

Ruth and Bill have three children and eight grandchildren, four in Canada, three in Coventry and one in Sheffield. We offer our sincere condolences to Bill and his family.

James Ian Sole

It is with sadness that we learned of the death of Ian on 4 September 2006 from "multi organ failure" at the age of 77, two months before his 78th birthday. He lived with his family in South Africa.

He did not recover well from heart valve surgery in early January 2006, however his passing was sudden and quite unexpected.  He is survived by his wife, Patricia and two Daughters, Nicola Sole and Juliette Macliam.

His daughter Nicola Sole commented: “He really enjoyed receiving your journals and reading up on his family history.  In fact, we have a "library" of your journals in his home office.  Thank for your keeping in contact with him, he really enjoyed hearing from you.”
