Robert F Soul 1911-2006

It is with sadness that we learned of the death of Bob Soul in September 2006.

Bob was a founder member of the Society and helped to arrange our inaugural gathering in  Olney, BKM, where his family had lived for four centuries. We send our condolences to his widow Dorothy and his family.

Lionel Sole

It is with sadness that we have to report the death of Lionel Sole at the age of 90.

Members will recall reading in previous editions Lionel's very interesting memoirs of his pre war days in and around Canterbury, his war time army service in North Africa and his later experiences in austere post war Britain.

His many distant cousins, whom he came to know through the Society, were able to meet him for the first, and sadly the last, time at our gathering in October 2006. He will be greatly missed.

Lionel is survived by his wife Joy and sons Graham and Ian
