On the Occasion of the 20th Anniversary of The Sole Society

I am very pleased to make a small contribution to this Journal as we approach our 20^th anniversary.

When the Sole Society was formed its first anniversary seemed to me to be a long way off, yet here we are almost twenty years later still in good health.

Thanks to our excellent officers and committee members we have made progress equivalent to any group in our field, our membership figures having held up well against the difficult conditions.

Thanks also are due to our loyal members whose support is highly regarded.

I look forward to a well attended and successful gathering and celebration at Drayton in October.
