This article was published in the March 2000 edition of Soul Search, the journal of The Sole Society. 

“The key link I'm searching for at the moment is Thomas Solly, a waggoner, born around 1835 in Woodnesborough, Kent, the son of Thomas Solly, a labourer.

The photo below is of my great grandparents, Kate Solly (the younger Thomas's daughter), and her husband Henry Hollands. Kate was born in West Northdown, Margate in 1865. In the 1881 census she is wrongly recorded in Dean Park, Wingham as age 10 - should be 16.”
