Extract from 'A Souvenir of Great Bridgewater Street Wesleyan Chapel and Sunday School'. Published Manchester 1898:
His (John Sewell, 1809) great regard for the fifth commandment was shown in practice and precept. His father and mother with other members of his family were interred in the Chapel yard, and not a Sunday passed but he would stand bare headed by the stone which recorded their burial place.
One of his sisters was the wife of the late Mr Richard Haworth, and it is interesting to read in the School records a memorial of Elizabeth Sewell, another sister, in Mr Haworth's neat handwriting
