From Roger Chalk
I was very interested to see in Geoff Soles’ article, ‘Meeting the Family in New Zealand’ a very strong family resemblance.
I often wonder what my SEWELL ancestors looked like, and whether there might be particular features which could have been passed down the generations of my Salisbury line.
Perhaps Diana Kennedy has seen enough old photos to be able to say one way or another. Or are there many distinct lines?
From Hazel R Goslin
My uncle passed this photo on to me several years ago. He said that it is of a family named SAUL who are linked to our family and that they lived in or near Lancaster.
Perhaps someone in your society might be able to identify the family? I do not know when the photo was taken but the uniforms should give a good indication. Other names in this family are Atkinson, Bretherton, Hornby and Turner Hope you can help.
