Re: William Pince/ Publishers and Chairman of the SGN Genealogical Foundation

I have been sent a letter from the above subject headed The Unique Solly Family Chronicle, £34.95, plus Solly Coat of Arms, £17.95, etc.etc....

This straight away suggested 'scam' to me especially when a Coat of Arms is mentioned, and a reference to Data Protection in Holland. I also remembered reading about a warning somewhere....a check in Google confirmed. The address given is William Pince Publishers, SPG0021/NL, 9 Trident Way, SOUTHALL, UB18 8NL, which looks like a box no/postal collection point to me.

Found this while researching in Warwickshire Record Office:

Burmington Parish Records, Burial 1777, Mary Saul, an old woman, accidentally drowned in a ditch, was buried - Feb 3rd.

From Alma Merritt  Re: August 2004 Edition – Matrimonial Capers

I am not a professional researcher! I have been transcribing Warwickshire parish registers for over 20 years for eventual publication by the Birmingham & Midland Society for Genealogy and Heraldry. It’s a hobby.

I have at the same time been compiling the family tree and my choice of the next parish register to transcribe is governed by the chance of finding something for my tree therein.

Ed: Sorry about the misleading intro. With over 20 year’s experience perhaps ‘expert’ would have been a more accurate description!
