This article was originally published in the December 2001 edition of Soul Search, the journal of The Sole Society.

They compared notes and found that they both shared the same great, great grandparents, Edward Sole born at Herne in 1798 and Rosanna Drayson who married in the Church of St. Mary the Blessed Virgin at Woodnesborough, Kent on 22nd February 1823. There were eight sons and three daughters of the marriage. Diana is descended from George (b. 1840) and Jennifer from his elder brother Edward (b. 1833).

As neither of our members has photographs of this large Sole family they have decided to appeal on the Channel 4 Family Tree pages in the hope discovering some. In the meantime they have their fingers crossed.
