SOLLEY Co-ordinator's Report - November 1995
by Elizabeth Hughes
I have received much information from Mr. TWJ Solley on the Ash and Sandwich branch of the SOLL(E)Y family.
He has gathered works from Alan Solley, and George Christopher Solley; he was related to both of them. He also has copies of the study of Sandwich and its inhabitants (including the Soll(e)ys) by Harry Fretten who unfortunately died before completing his work. All this has been used in conjunction with Ridlon's research, enabled us to check his information, and construct more charts from Bill Solley's information.
Bob Solley has spent a lot of time entering all the IGI entries for Kent and some other counties including SULLEY and SOLEY onto a database using the REUNION package. He will soon be entering further information we have gathered in the past year including the above, parish registers, census returns, marriage licences, and land and poll taxes. He has been to Ash to see Elizabeth Hudson who has studied the Ash parish registers of the families and made family groups including the SOLLEYs.
